Greater
—Expanded format includes interview with Elizabeth Rowe,
new BSO
Principal Flute
Woburn, MA – Monday, October 4, 2004 — GBFA, a nonprofit organization devoted to
supporting the greater Boston flute community, today released a 20-page,
expanded format Gazette, mailing to its installed member base.
The organization’s new
president, Elizabeth Watson, said the new format was necessary to meet the
changing needs of the organization and to allow for the extensive, in-depth
interview with Boston Symphony Orchestra’s new Principal Flute, Elizabeth Rowe,
plus an informative article on world flutes and an overview of GBFA’s 11th Annual Flute Fair to be held Oct.
30-31 in Marlborough, Massachusetts.
Watson explained that the
fall issue of the gazette includes an invitation to meet Elizabeth Rowe, news
from throughout the flute world, information on The New England String
Ensemble’s 3rd Annual Flute Concerto Competition, a sign-up sheet
for GBFA District Master Classes, plus comments, quips, and perceptions about
music.
